Legendary Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass has died at the age of 59 following "a difficult recovery" from colon cancer surgery, his son has told the AP news agency. Teddy Pendergrass II said his father had died at a hospital in Philadelphia. |

 | Soul and funk artist Isaac Hayes – best known for his pioneering sound in the 1970s – passed away at the age 65 in Memphis. Hayes – who was to turn 66 on August 20 – is the father of 12 children and the grandfather to 14. He has had four wives. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and his new album was scheduled to be released on September 16. Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" won both Academy and Grammy awards. He has reinterpreted classic tunes in his own, silky-smooth style, from Aretha Franklin's "Till You Come Back To Me," to the Curtis Mayfield standard, "People Get Ready," to Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Former member of LTD, Jeffrey Osborne, just finished recording his new album 'A Time For Love' on Saguaro Road records. This album is released after 8 years from his latest 2005 album 'From The Soul'. This albums consist of twelve songs. A lot of them are real soul covers. He collaborated on this album with different well known artists like George Duke, Paul Jackson Jr., Chaka Khan, also with other less known artists like Everette Harp, Rick Braun, and Kamasi Washington.
