Sister Sledge Kicks Off 2014
Soul and Funk Music.com will air a special interview with Sister Sledge on January 1st, New Years Day at 22.00 CET on the webradiostream in a exclusive episode of Back to the Old School. Radio host Jeffrey Williams will meet Joni and Debra and he'll introduce us to a 'new sister' Tanya Tiet, who is singer during the 2013 Sister Sledge world tour. Tanya will collaborate with the new Sister Sledge album which is due for spring 2014. From now on she's a new sister in the family.
Record Store Day 2014 I hope that you can join us at Soul Brother Records on Saturday for Record Store Day, to celebrate the culture of independent record shops. This has now become the highlight day of the year for Record Collectors and this year there are more Soul , Jazz and Reggae releases than ever before. Former Member of the Delfonics Major Harris died at age 65 from congestive heart failure. He was best known for his tremendous hit "Love Won't Let Me Wait" written by Bobby Eli. Norman Harris, the Philly producer, guitarist and Trammps co-founder, is the cousin of Major Harris.
"Love Won't Let Me Wait" was from his album 'My Way' from 1975. On this album a bunch of MFSB members collaborated.
In 1984 he recorded the superb album 'I Believe In Love' on SOCIETY HILL Records with that great track 'Gotta Make Up Your Mind'.
He will be missed. RIP
