Announce the publication of Soul Survivor: A Biography of Al Green by Jimmy McDonough, the author of Shakey: Neil Young’s Story.

Al Green is considered by many to be the greatest soul singer of all time. With songs like “Love and Happiness,” “I’m Still in Love with You,” and “Tired of Being Alone,” he has sold more than 20 million records, been sampled by countless hip-hop artists, and even had President Obama singing his tunes. One of the most complicated and elusive figures in popular music, Green has never been scrutinized in print successfully—until now. Soul Survivor follows the tortured road Green traveled from gospel to secular and back again, and uncovers the story of his label, Hi Records.

Shirley Murdock currently hitting paydirt U.S.A. with th success of her “As We track 'Which is included on her 1985 album release. The singer is presently recording new tracks with Larry Troutman for her upcoming album from Elektra.

Hot shots Jam & Lewis together with Jesse Johnson have, reportedly, begun work on track cutting for the upcoming Time reunion album. No definite news yet on the proposed tour, however.

"Love Won't Let Me Wait" was from his album 'My Way' from 1975. On this album a bunch of MFSB members collaborated.

In 1984 he recorded the superb album 'I Believe In Love' on SOCIETY HILL Records with that great track 'Gotta Make Up Your Mind'.

He will be missed. RIP
