The Dazz Band - Wild And Free The Dazz band were one of the groups responsible for developing the synth-funk of the 80s. The merge of two Cleveland, Ohio funk, bands Bell Telefunk and Brain Tree. During the years there were several line-up changes in the group. The main members were still , Bobby Harris, and Pierre DeMudd during the Dazz band years. The groups name was originally called Kinsman Dazz after the Kinsman Grill - a club owned by Bobby's father. Dazz means danceable jazz.

In 1980 they moved to Motown records were they recorded some big hits like 'Shake It Up', 'joystick', 'Let it all blow' and 'Let it whip' the latter was a R&B #1 for five weeks. The changed record labels from time to time. After the Motown period they changed to Geffen, RCA. In 1988 the dropped from the R&B charts till 1993 when Bobby Harris assembled the new Dazz Band.

This album Wild and Free was originally released on Geffen Records in 1986. On the original album, the first on Geffen, consist of 10 tracks. Vinyl-masterpiece expanded this CD with some bonus tracks. The extended dance remix of 'Wild and Free', a house mix of 'L.O.V.E. M.I.A' mixed by Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk. The sound of this album is typical late eighties with that famous Yamaha DX7 synth.
