Hipnotic's "Are You Lonely," recorded in 1983, is a rare funk and boogie classic whose original 12" incarnation commands upwards of $600 or more on collector's sites worldwide. The band includes Lloyd Parks, Bernie Williams and Darnell Gillespie; all original members of Philly soul sensations the Blue Notes (Gillespie is currently the lead singer of Harold Melvin's The Blue Notes). The record was produced and co-written by the legendary Philly soul maestro Allan Felder who has written soulful tracks for the O'Jays, Delfonics and others.
