After The Somewhat Commercial Disappointment In The Patchwork Album "Grand Slam", The Isleys Decided To Add A Little Pop To Their Funk By Employing A String Section Of The Majority Of These Cuts. The Strings Actually Elevate The Smokin' Nine-minute Title Track, The Doobie-ish "Baby Hold On", And The Philly-styled Ballad "Don't Hold Back Your Love". "Love Merry Go Round" Goes Nowhere, "First Love" Is Marred By A Cheesy Horn Secton (EWF Horns They're Not), "Welcome To My Heart" Is A Drippy Kids From Fame Pop Ballad, And "Love Zone" Has Silly Lyrics But A Great Solo By Ernie Over A Bed Of Complimentary Strings.
