Put This Album On Today And You're Left With Only One Burning Question, "Where In The World Is Alicia Myers?". Alicia Myers Left The Band "One Way" After A Successful Run Of R&b Hits In The Late 70's. Her Debut Album Self Titled, "Alicia Meyers" Arrived In 1981 And Was An Instant Hit With The Lead Off Single, "Don't Stop Wha' Cha' Doin'". That Was Followed By The Slow Jam, "If You Play Your Cards Right" Which Has Become An R&b Classic And Mainstay On The "quiet Storm" Formats Across The Nation. Blessed With A Soulful Alto, Alicia Myers Could Easily Hold Ranks With The Best Soul Diva's Of The Time; Anita Baker, Deniece Williams, Angela Bofill And Evelyn King To Name A Few. Other Stand Out Tracks On The Album Are, "Spirit Of The Boogie", "We Can't Stay In Bed Forever" And The Uplifting, "I Want To Thank You". Eventhough Alica Meyers Continued To Put Out Music Sporatically Over The Next Few Years, Many Of Her Albums Seemed Pieced Together: "I Want To Thank You" Would Re-appear On Multiple Studio Lp's. Eventually, The Singer Would Fall Off Of The Music Radar All Together. Luckily, You Can Still Purchase Various Compilations Of Her Work. The Album, "Alicia Meyers" Is Currently Out Of Print (a Collector's Item If Your Lucky To Have A Copy), If Not Here Is A Album That's Worth Seeking Out At Your Local Vinyl Shop/or Online.
