SHIRLEY BROWN was born in New York City on 6 January, 1947. SHIRLEY BROWN released Ten albums from 1974 till 2009. The first album SHIRLEY BROWN released in the seventies is 'Woman To Woman' on TRUTH Records. Other albums that SHIRLEY BROWN recorded are 'Shirley Brown', 'For The Real Feeling', 'Intimate Storm'. From 1972 till 1988 SHIRLEY BROWN released also thirteen singles. The first single SHIRLEY BROWN released in the seventies is 'I Ain't Gonna Tell' on ABET Records. Other released tracks are 'Love Fever (1984 / FOURTH & BROADWAY)', 'It Ain't No Fun (1975 / )', 'I've Got To Go On Without You (1975 / TRUTH)'.

Shirley brown started as many other soul singers in een gospel choir. She recorded two gospel albums for the Abet Label before she was discovered by Albert King. Al Jackson produced her debut album "Woman to woman". This album sold over a million copies in the US and was topping the charts. Her second album was for the label Arista. Her third 'For The Real Feeling'was her latest in the 70s after that she disappeared from the scene until 1984 with her album 'Intimate Storm'. In 1989 she sang a duet with Bobby Womack 'Ain't nothin' like the lovin' we.
