Dana Salzman represents a down to earth vibe. She plays original music with soulful arrangements and creates bangin' beats and lyrics everyone can relate to. Imagine this: jazzy neo-soul with a hip-hop, reggae, and gospel flavor.

Playing music since the age of four, music has always been her life. Early on, she was classically trained by her russian mother… she then went on to become schooled in the ways of jazz. Her influences include Roy Ayers, John Coltrane, Sly & the Family Stone, Donny Hathaway, Etta James, James Brown, Mahalia Jackson , Prince, West Coast rap, and a whole lot more. Dana received her degree from the New School of Jazz and Contemporary music and does all her own production, writing and performing. She also does session work as a keyboardist and singer, she performs with her own band as well as being a backing musician/singer for other artists, and is also a musical director and band leader.

Her live show is danceable, filled with soulful originals performed by a diverse group of extremely talented individuals. She has been touching audiences at various venues on the east and west coast including Bam Café (Brooklyn Art Museum) in Brooklyn, NY, S.O.B.’s (NY), Joe’s Pub (NY), Yoshi’s San Francisco, The Shattuck Down Low in Berkeley and many more.
