Tavares - Love Storm Whodunit? Vinyl-Masterpiece did it. They reissued the album ‘Love Storm’ by Tavares. ‘Love Storm’ was the fifth album Tavares recorded in the early till mid seventies. In fact this album was released on Capitol Records in 1977.
Freddie Perren produced this album. It was not their best charted album, it only reached #15 in Billoard R&B album chart. ‘In The City’ with the track ‘It Only Takes A Minute’ from 1975 performed better, it reached #8.

The album opens with the well-known ‘Whodunit’ which reached #1 on Billboards R&B single chart in 1977. It was the only single from this album that reached the charts.

‘Keep in touch’ a down temp soul/pop tune sounds like a Philly tune with great string arrangements and drum pattern, performed by James Gadson. The more up tempo ‘I wanna see you soon’ featured special guest vocalist Freda Payne. On this track the Philly sound is also present. Not weird for that year. Everybody wants to sound like the Philly artists. ‘Fool of the year’ is a nice ballad. Another favorite is the great tune ‘Watchin’ The Woman’s Movement’.

Side B opens with the sing along uptempo Disco track 'One step away’, followed by three down tempo tracks ‘Out Of the Picture’, ‘Goodnight My Love’ , and ‘The Going ups and the coming Downs’, the latter sounds the best of these three.
