There could be no better standard bearer for Donny Hathaway's work than tenor saxophonist Kirk Whalum, whose work has similarly crossed the boundaries between R&B, gospel, and jazz. Everything is Everything consummates the chart-topping For You and The Babyface Songbook to create a trilogy that brilliantly exhibit Kirk's singular interpretive skills, and further advances the career of this 8-time Grammy nominee. Everything is Everything features collaborations with: Musiq Soulchild, Lalah Hathaway, Robert Randolph, Christian McBride, Rick Braun & Jeff Golub.

The Main Ingredient was formed in Harlem in 1964 as a trio called the Poets, composed of lead singer Donald McPherson, Luther Simmons, Jr., and Panama-born Tony Silvester. In 1966 they were signed to RCA and after a couple of singles with small success they changed their name in The Main Ingredient. Unfortunately Donald McPherson who had taken ill with leukemia, passed away unexpectedly. Silvester and Simmons regrouped with new lead singer Cuba Gooding, who'd served as a backing vocalist on some of their previous recordings and had filled in on tour during McPherson's brief illness.

The Mississippi based funk band Wynd Chymes formed in the 70’s. They released an obscure 7” single ‘Baby you’re the one’ on the imprint ‘Lotus Land’. This was a demo and apparently the catalyst for getting them signed to RCA Victor Records. In 1978, just with a record deal in the bag, Alexander O’Neal left the group to focus on his solo with the producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis of Flyte Tyme Productions. The album ‘Arrival’ was produced by Anthony A. Lockett, a member of Cameo and contains great disco funk tracks as ‘Arrival’, ‘Checking out your stuff and ‘Do it (fun in the sun)’. One ballad was released on 12 inch: ‘Sending my love’. Wynd Chymes – Arrival is a typical collectors album, which is now released for the first time on CD.
