Onitsha La’Quis Shaw born in Beverly Hills, California, on July 16, 1980. She started attending West Angeles COGIC (Church Of God In Christ) in Los Angeles. Singing for family and friends turned into singing for the Lord. She became a part of the Angelic Children’s Choir, under the direction of Ruth Schofield. Her first solo with the Angelic Choir came quickly. A few years later the choir went on to do an album, sing on a television special with Tevin Campbell at Disneyland.
