The CD starts with 'Head over Heels' by Emelee. This track is from the forthcoming album 'Kiss and Tell' on Barak Records. The underlying groove is a sample from the break of Skyy's 'Here's to you'. The vocals of Emelee are wonderful. RJ's Latest Arrival's RJ Rice produced it.

Amar Kahlil's 'solitary' is sing-a-long song. The chorus is catchy. The beat is funky and background vocals are perfect. He teamed up with the today's hottest young producer Jamie Hawkins. Son of the famous gospel family Walter & Tramaine Hawkins.

'Not Without you' by Maskerade feat. D'Fine is a mix of R&B and Hiphop. Nice song.

Blue eye vocalist Kayte Burgess wrote the song 'Happy'. It's a smooth produced song with very nice vocals of Kayte. She secured opportunities to showcase her skills for Quincy Jones, Mariah Carey and Jill Scott.

'Old School Party' by the Canadian Jeff Hendrick has a catchy groove with nice horns. The chorus 'Having a old school party, playing your favorite songs' says enough. He recorded two albums in the past.

Darien Brockington his first single is 'Steppin out' a nice song with a continious floating

If you here 'Long Gone' of Johanna after the previous track it grip your hips right away. Very good produced, smooth, cheerful, nice vocals a real R&B killer.

'Welcome to my party' is a contemporay song. Not my kind of music.

See the album of Ray Robinson for details about 'missed your chance'.

Uptempo 'Jones in my Bones' by Detroit's Darnell Kendricks is a song that you need listen more than once. Nevertheless a nice song.

JL Cotter's - Mo Thangs is for me the best track on this compilation CD. This guy knows how R&B should sound like. Nice vocals, catchy chorus, and guitar licks with 80s influences. I'm curious how his album sounds.

20 Years old Howard Murray from Lebanon produced, wrote 'Come And Get It'. A urban song. Not bad.

The bassline of 'Don't stop' by Christopher Terrell sounds like the synth what Mantronix used in the 80s. I think it's too much on the foreground but anyway the chorus is catchy and vocals are ok.

Do I hear 'Mary J Blige' on 'All I Wanna Do' by Costie Payne? It's Real R&B. Vocals and music are blended perfectly on this track.

'Amazed by your smile' has a nice moog bass line. Israele native Nyr Raymond, spent his childhood in France, has a perfect voice. It's a nice soul R&B song.

Rahbi's - 'Another Chance' has a different sound than other R&B songs. That's make this song interesting.

Track 17 and 18 are rap songs. Not my type.

The last track on this promo album, 'Candyman' is a slow soul song by BC. It has some H-Town influences. A good track for some romance.

I listened to all the tracks and I must conclude that in the near future we will hear more from a few artists. For a track listing see Various Artists - Playlist Vol 001 (promo CD).
